This is the very first year that I actually have a mantel to decorate. Holla!
So check it! My holiday mantel decor…
I’m not one to go out and spend a ton on holiday decor. There is just something about knowing that it will only be up for a few short weeks that makes me not want to drop much cash on it.Temporary decorations are not really my thing.
Now ask my husband about my permanent decoration spending habits and I am sure he will tell you I have no problem dropping some dough on that. Ahem.
This years decorations are absolutely the exact same as last years. I have not spent one single dime on adding to my Christmas decor…pretty proud about that. Ha!
I will say that they look much better this year displayed on my mantel rather than spread out on different random shelves.
I truly need to get my act together and order SJ’s stocking. I didn’t order him one last year because the Pottery Barn ones that match ours were “out of stock”. Unfortunately this year, they don’t carry the ones I need anymore.
So now the question becomes….do I order EVERYONE new ones? Try to find a Pottery Barn replica? Or just have his be different than all the others? Or maybe just get ALL the kids new ones? Decisions decisions.
This adorable “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” sign was made for me by my friend Tonya. She gives a great tutorial on how to make signs like this over on her blog.
And the tree. Oh, the tree. One of my first Christmas crafts EVA! Ok, so I guess I lied. I do have one new piece of holiday decor, but it literally cost me $4 so I am not sure that really counts, right?!
Check back Thursday for the FULL details on how to make one just like it! My favorite way to add spice to any shelf is to fill my lanterns with something colorful! I used some red and gold ornaments that were missing the hooks and…VOILA…pretty shelf decor accomplished.
I know this post is suppose to be about my mantel, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to post a picture of my cute reindeer pillow. Isn’t it darling?
Now excuse me while I go order our third child a stocking. He’s nearly two. It’s a bit ridiculous this has taken me so long.
Check out more of our home on our Home Tour page! You can see how I finally got my mantel in my Fancy Fireplace Makeover post.

Everything looks so festive! Love that pillow!
Love your Mantel !!!!
I have the solution for your stocking dilemma.
It’s brilliant 😉
You need to order ALL new ones!
Why?
BECAUSE, soon, you will have a 4th little one! And if you order all new stockings, and leave the 6th unembroidered, you will be able to take it to an embroidery shop who will be able to match the font style of your 5 original stockings! And then the whole family will match 🙂
I LOVE IT!!!!! This could seriously be in a magazine…jealous!! We just brought our tree out last night, and I can’t wait to decorate tonight!!!
Your mantel looks so great Mandy!! I LOVE the little reindeer pillow!! So cute!! As for the stocking dilemma, my friend Lisa makes personalized stockings in her etsy shop! Her stockings may look cute combined with your pottery barn stockings! Here is the link if you are interested! http://www.etsy.com/listing/85161428/boys-monogrammed-christmas-stocking
p.s. Thanks so much for the shout-out!! 🙂
Love! The reindeer pillow is adorable! I am crazy but I would order all new stockings for everyone.
what a beautiful mantel! I am sure that you could find a replica or even have someone on etsy make it for you! If it were easy to find the red velvet this time of year, I’d make you two of them! I’ve already been looking and haven’t found any near me!
Love the pillow! And your mantel is so simple but gorgeous! Love it!
You can always look on ebay for a stocking to match! Then have a local shop monogram it.
Love it!! And, just a wee bit jealous that you have a real mantle to decorate this year. 🙂 We have the Pottery Barn stockings too and it makes me crazy that I don’t have a great place to hang them.
Wow! Looks awesome, girly! 🙂 xo
It’s so beautiful!! Could you try ebay for matching stockings?? Otherwise I would order new ones 🙂
Tis the season to decorate and I love to decorate my mantle and hang my handmade stockings.
Gorgeous mantle. All of the little ‘Christmas touches’ are perfect, I love it.
It’s unfortunate we are complete strangers because if we were besties…or even friends…or well even just sorta barely knew each other I would sooooo bribe you into decorating my home!!
As for the stockings I would just get SJ his own and buy the entire family new ones when your adoption becomes final (keeping my fingers crossed it happens soon…like yesterday soon!) and you bring your sweet angel home. Then you can of course wait until after Christmas to get AMAZING stockings at 80% off…
I seriously NEED that reindeer pillow! Its SO cute!
wow! i’ve never seen a mantle like that, all the way up there. it’s really neat, and you did a great job on it. i don’t have a mantle (wop wop) so i use my dining room table for vignettes.
Your mantel looks so great…and I love the price, too! You are SUPER talented Mandy! XO, Aimee
We have the exact same stockings and Mason had the little one. We ended up ordering him and Caroline the green with Ivory cuff ones this year since they stopped making the little ones. I like the look of it since Brian and I’s are red and then Mason and Caroline’s are green. So they coordinate.
Mandy, this looks amazing! I love the colors and your built-in mantel is gorgeous! Great job!! xoxo
I adore your mantel! I have to say, this is the first year that I don’t have a mantel and I am SO jealous of yours! 🙂 you did a beautiful job! Thank you for sharing and for the great inspiration!
Jaime
Your mantel is very sweet, and I adore your “tree!”
Your mantel decor looks lovely and so festive. But that reindeer pillow? That takes the cake! Love it!
As for stockings, I’m glad I never tried to do matching ones. . . . good luck!
LOVE your mantle decor. You are so awesome at decorating. And your stocking dilemma? I’m going through the SAME thing right now. I don’t even have stockings out this year because I don’t like that they are mis-matchy. lol.
Your mantle is so cute! I love the believe sign!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful decor! I have a lantern like that & never thought of putting colored balls in it, great idea!
