I’ve heard people say to me, “You’re a crossfitter. You’re in shape.”
In my head, all I could do was laugh.
Was I crossfitter? I guess, if you consider attending one (two at best) crossfit classes a week. That was on a good week.
I was often the joke of the gym.
“Oh, look Mandy Rose decided to show up again.”
All joking aside, they were right.
I was one big pathetic excuse. I could come up with just about anything and everything you can think of on why I did not have time to get to the gym.
I had been approached by one of my friends about trying out an “at home” workout program, but I wasn’t interested. I have always been the type of girl who needs to workout at a gym, not at home.
But finally, I got fed up with my body and the way I felt and…I knew that I knew that I knew, I HAD to do something. If it wasn’t going to be crossfit or a gym membership, what would I have to lose trying out this crazy at-home workout thing, eh?!?!
I told my friend, “Fine, I’ll try it. But don’t even think about asking me to sign up as a coach to sell it.”
Dun-dun-dun.
Those will be my famous last words as you will soon hear. Ha!
In walks the 21 Day Fix.
Holy-life-changer-batman.
I made the commitment to stick to the challenge for the full 21 days. If I was going to do it, I wanted to DO IT and see for myself what kind of results you could get.
In my first 3 weeks, I lost 5lbs, toned up and felt 9 gazillion times better about myself.
I was in shock of my before & after photos. I could SEE a change!
I loved it so much that I wanted to tell the entire world about it.
You see, that’s me. If I find something awesome? I want to share it with the the universe. Maybe you’re the type that likes to hide it under your pillow in fear that others will experience your awesome.
But, not me.
So, I figured I would sign up as a “coach” since I planned to tell more people about it anyway. Only logical right?
Except I had to eat those words I once spoke about “I’ll never sign up as a coach.” #swallowspride
Basically, as a Beachbody coach, I get a discount on the products and my monthly Shakeology as well as get a small commission from anyone I refer to purchase the products.
My initial thought was, “why not”.
Why not take the chance on something that just rocked my world for the last 21 days. I don’t have to sell a single thing, all I have to do is share with people my experience. And…
Sharing > Selling
A week later I signed up as a coach with the mindset that, if I don’t get another person interested in the 21 Day Fix then so be it. At least I still get a discount on my products and I can share how it truly changed my world! Soooo….
I shared my story. My experience. How the 21 Day Fix worked for me.
I was blown away by how many other people were in the same boat I was…. unhappy with their bodies and doing NOTHING about it.
You guys, people are yearning to be healthy. They are seeking for something that shows them results and changes the way they feel about their bodies.
21 Day Fix does that.
The best part about this business and being a coach is that you get to help people on a daily basis and you don’t have to be a fitness expert.
You get to share in your challengers results and be excited when you see that they not only lost 10 lbs, but they gained confidence they hadn’t had in years.
I never, in a million years, thought this would be a “real” source of income for me.
I never thought I would be making enough from coaching to start thinking about dropping other parts of my online business.
But the reality is, I am making more from sharing my love for health and fitness than I am making in any other thing I am doing online.
Yes, you read that correctly. This has become a full-time income in a short amount of time. I’m not saying that to brag… Because one thing is certain —> I never signed up to do this for the money. I’m saying this all because I want you to know that it’s doable.
That anyone can do this. I’m not special. I didn’t have any prior fitness or health training.
What I did have? A story, that others could relate to.
I’m a mom who wanted to gain my confidence back and feel good about my body.
I’ve been working on some of my online business things for YEARS. YEARS, people. And to see that I made more in one month from being a BeachBody coach than I make with other revenue streams that I have had in place for quite some time… really got me fired up about how this business can WORK FOR YOU!
Especially when I feel like I have yet to have to “sell” anything. I hate selling. Ugh.
I get to HELP people be healthy!
My “why” may be different than your “why”, but I guarantee you…we all have a “why”.
Here is a little more about mine…
1. You don’t have to sell.
Like I said, all you have to do is SHARE. Share what you are doing and why it’s working for you.
If you are honest and transparent with people, they will be inspired and want to follow what you are doing. It’s as simple as that.
2. Social media makes it easy.
If the key is sharing… then wouldn’t you agree that we live in a world where it’s EASY to share anything we want. You don’t have to have a blog to share your story. You can share it on Facebook or Instagram.
Every single one of my challengers so far have come to me. I have not directly asked a single person to do the 21 Day Fix.
They have all seen something I have posted or a story I have shared about how the 21 Day Fix changed me and they felt a nudge to inquire more and were inspired to try it out on their own.
Maybe you’re thinking, “Well, she has a larger social media following than me.”… I can tell you this, I will show you how to effectively share on social media when it comes to coaching. I have a training program that I put all of my coaches through. I want to help you and give you all the tools to be successful with it!
3. All the support and information you need is handed to you.
I will walk you through everything you need to know when it comes to coaching. I offer a 30 day training program for new coaches. We give you all the deets on how to run a challenge group (including scripts that are already laid out for you), how to maneuver the website, how to successfully share your story, etc.
ALL OF IT.
Handed to you.
You know the saying, “Don’t reinvent the wheel”…
You won’t need to because we have already done all the work.
Self- Motivated
Just like any other thing you do, you have to be self-motivated.
Maybe you want to quit your job and stay at home with your kids. Maybe your goal is to make enough extra money so you can save for a big purchase. Or splurge on certain things.
Maybe you want to be able to allow your husband to quit his job (yes, it’s doable). Or you need side income to supplement what your current job is not providing.
Becoming a BeachBody coach can do that. It has worked for me and I am confident, it can work for you too if you are willing to put in the effort.

I just absolutely love seeing moms work out with their children. My seven year old is hot and cold working out with me, but my two year old loves it (and by it I mean laying on top of me while I try to do abs which is even more of a workout so I’ll take it).
ps- I am in love with your wall decor.
Mandy says
Haha! I can totally relate to that. Usually I have a kid or a dog on top of me for abs.

Hey Mandy, thanks for sharing this info. I too did the 21 day fix back in March before my husband and I headed to Hawaii. I loved it and had great results as well. My only question/comment for you is that I don’t see how any person without the following that you have on IG and here on your blog would be able to turn this into a legit full time business. Sure, there are some people who are great at selling, they can go sit at a gym and strike up a conversation with a stranger and get them to buy into it. But what about people (me included) who can post on their IG and FB a few times a day about a program like this and eventually run out of people to coach? There comes a time when that happens. And unless I have a super successful online blog, which is then connected to a large following on Pinterest and then on twitter and IG and periscope and every other social media site. I don’t see how this would work. You know what I mean? I get it, you and Jeff are successful online, you have blogs and podcast channels, etc. So you have a large following. If you wanted to sell ice to Eskimos via your social media groups, I feel like you could do it….I know this from experience. I am currently part of a direct sales company. I am active in it mostly from reorders and my own personal use. I even contacted you to see if you were interested in teaming up, but you said you weren’t interested…Which I totally accept and appreciated the response:) …I don’t know how to reach more people I guess and I’m ok with it, it’s not that I have to work, I just do this for fun. I guess my point is that if you already have a large following and you toss an idea at them, they’ll more than likely catch it and do what you’re doing. Right?
Mandy says
Hey Alyssa!! I definitely think that already having a following will help you be successful FASTER, however, I think anyone can build a following on social media if they have the right tools. I was able to make this a full time income within 3 months because I already have an audience, BUT MANY MANY MANY other people have started this business with ZERO following and done what I have done. And many have done it way better.
To me? It’s all about how you connect with other people, gain their trust, share your story and help solve their problem (healthy living). I think the proper training in how to be a coach is so important and giving people the tools they need to be successful with it. That’s why I am devoting a lot of my time to TEACHING my team how they can do it. Showing them why they don’t have to sell anything, how they can get customers from building their social media and email list (which ANYONE can do) and handing them all the stuff they need to run Fit Challenges, etc.
I’ve heard some really inspiring stories from other coaches who started with no following and have built their business to six figures. I truly believe that it can be done by anyone, if they have the drive to want to learn!
Hope that helps answer your questions! Feel free to email me if you have anymore! [email protected]

Love it, Mandy! So proud of you girl. You were MADE to be a Beachbody Coach, and are totally rocking it. I really love the 21 Day Fix workouts. 30 minutes done and DONE. They’re fun (I mean, as fun as a workout can be) 😉 and I feel like everyone has 30 minutes. I love how they are challenging and really torch calories unlike a lot of other fitness DVD’s out there. Also, the fact that they have a modifier in each video {hey, Kat} really helps because if you feel like you can’t do a move for the full minute the way demonstrated, there’s an always an easier modification move until you get stronger. Way to go, girlie! XO
