I’ve posted pics of SJ’s nursery before, but not since it’s been completely finished. And not since I”ve learned how to use my Canon T3i better. π
When you have 3 boys…trying to come up with another “boy themed” room is not easy.
I’ve done blue. I’ve done green. So I knew I wanted to do something more modern and light for SJ!
Who doesn’t love gray and white stripes? And elephants?

Gray Stripe Color: Benjamin Moore Gray Owl (OC-52)

Thanks to Tonya from Love of Family and Home I now have this lovely personalized birth announcement sign to match his room!
Most of the furniture in SJ’s room was hand-me-down. That’s what happens when you become baby #3.

This changing table has been through all three of the boys and it’s still going strong! I found those adorable wall elephants on clearance at Hobby Lobby!

This lovely piece of furniture…use to be mine in college. We did a quick little paint job on it and a hardware switch and voila…it’s like new!

All of the bedding was custom made from a family friend. I picked out my fabric on Fabric.com. It is a Michael Miller fabric called zoology and I just love the pop of teal!
Again, staying on the “hand-me-down” theme…we have the refurbished bookcase that almost went in the trash. I talked the hubby in to letting me keep it and paint it white. His trash is my treasure. π

The chair is my FAVORITE piece in my entire house. Literally.
It’s from PoshTotsΒ and it’s the Regal Loose in Opheila Dove…and it’s such a statement piece. Not to mention, comfy!

Another sweet sign with words that mean so much.

THIS IS THE START OF YOUR SWEET LITTLE STORY WHERE YOUR PAGE MEETS MINE NO MATTER WHERE YOUR TALE TAKES YOU OUR STORY WILL ALWAY READ LOVE
Ahhhhh! My heart melts when I read it!
Here is a view from the entrance of his room.

This mirror actually came on a dresser that I found on Craigslist and I had it stored for awhile. I really thought I would never find a use for it.

I added the custom monogram and I think it totally makes the entrance very elegant and welcoming. I can’t remember where exactly I ordered the monogram from, but it was somewhere on etsy.
Do you love or hate the curtains? It was the one piece in the room that my husband was like, “HUH??” He felt like he was being hypnotized. Hehe! I kinda like the extra funky fabric personally.
More elephant love…

…the boys actually like to pretend he’s a horse and ride him.

I also ordered these elephant vinyl prints for $5 on etsy {can not remember which shop} and then put them on picture frames. The background is just wrapping paper!

I will be sad when SJ grows up and wants a “big boy” room. I want to keep this room forever!

Absolutely stunning!!! This room is a work of art. Megan

This nursery is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! STUNNING!! Hope you can link it up at my brand new Trendy Tuesday! http://www.sweetlittlegals.com/2012/05/trendy-tuesday-1.html
I love the color scheme!
What a stunning room. It has so much personality to it. I’m a big fan of the elephant vinyl prints!
I am a HUGE fan of elephants. This nursery is about the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Beautifully decorated from tail to trunk. You got my vote and can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
You did an amazing job on your nursery. I too, want to make my own bumper. Its Michael Miller fabric right? Which fabrics did you use?
Love it. Where did you find the curtains???
This room is gorgeous! I especially love the glider… Exactly which glider is it from posh tots? Choosing a glider is a very daunting task. When I find one I like that I can actually try out, the fabric I want is discontinued! All the cute ones are online but then you run the risk of it being uncomfortable or not working for you. Please let me know which one this is! Thanks!!
I love that chair!!! Which chair is it on the website? And what is the name of the fabric? Do you remember?
Gorgeous, Mandy! Such an adorable room. π
I’m highlighting your room in my post today. Thanks for linking up to my party!

Wow! I love everything about this room!! What was the style of the chair at Posh Tots?? Thanks!!
Hey! I have also chosen a similar Michael Miller print! Can you tell me what etsy site you got the vinal elephants from?
Which etsy site did you get the vinyl elephants ??
I think I found them here:

Hi! I just love your nursery. I also was wk seeking what style chair you have from posh tots.
What kind of chair did you buy off of the website? Which fabric? I love the chair.
The nursery is absolutely beautiful. I know many have asked, but what is the style and fabric of the chair. It is so beautiful.
Thank you so much! It’s the Regal Loose in Opheila Dove from Poshtots.com!
I too would like to paint my nursery with stripes. What is the width that you used? It looks perfect!
It’s a beautiful room! I would want to stay in there more than the baby, I think! Would you mind sharing where you bought the crib?
Hi. I love your nursery. We are due to have our 3rd baby girl in November. I’m doing her nursery in gray and white and turquoise. I was going to do 1 wall of stripes by my husband thinks we should stripe all of the walls. I came across your nursery through Pinterest. I noticed all but one wall in your nursery is striped. I was just wondering if you love it or if all of those stripes is a little overwhelming? They look great in the pictures! My nursery is a small room that will have a full size bed in it along with the baby stuff, so the room will be full. Any thoughts? 1 striped wall or 4?
Hi! Thank you! I actually love that 3 of the 4 walls are striped! I think that just one wall would have been less of a “wow” factor. Not sure I would do all 4, but can you do 3 of the 4? I left the one wall that has the closet door on it (and that I knew I wouldn’t be setting furniture against) a solid gray.
Can you tell me where you purchased the crib? I really like it! Thank you!!
I agree with Cayla! Love that crib!!
WOW!!! I love everything about this nursery! I want my son’s nursery to be just like that!!! would you mind sharing which vendor you got the fabric for the bedding and curtain from…also the person who made them? are they open for business? i’d love to use them for my nursery as well π
I clicked on this picture BECAUSE OF THE CURTAINS!!! I would LOVE to know where I can find that fabric. Love it:)
Thank you! I ordered the fabric from Fabric.com and it’s Michael Miller Zoology. Then I had someone custom make the curtains.
The curtains are soo fun. Where dd you get them?
I bought the fabric and had a local person make them.
Love your nursery! The colors are so soothing without being boring. And the chair is amazing. I hope you don’t mind if I include a pic of your nursery (With a link) in a post tomorrow about nurseries that are inspiring me.
I don’t mind at all! Thanks!!
Did you get the piping done in Ophelia Dove as well or is that considered no piping?
Yep, piping is done in Ophelia Dove too!
I love the walls! Can you let me know the paint colors? Painting this week.
The gray paint info is here: https://houseofroseblog.com/nursery-ideas-gray-and-white/
I just used a regular white paint.
can you tell me where the ceiling fan is from?
I would love to know the same thing. So hard to find nice looking fans!
I am having a little boy in January, my first boy (nervous! I feel like I have the girl thing down!), I really love the stripes, but how do you get them so perfectly straight? I mean, I know how I would do it.. but my way would take ages! Any tricks or tips? By the way, I think you are an amazing blogger! I wish I could do what you do.. but I would be too nervous to quit my job as a high school teacher in MO. You are quite the inspiration though!!!!! π
Awww, thank you so much. About the stripes…I hired someone to paint them. π I usually paint myself, but I was too afraid it would take me a million years to get them perfect. However, I did find tons of tutorials on how to do it if you are wanting to try it. Google “Painting Horizontal Stripes”.
Thank you so much for getting back to me! I really do appreciate it! Now back to work after a much needed break… too bad it rained all weekend in St. Louis! uugghh! We usually go to Murphysboro to lake Kinkaid on the holiday.. but the water is tooooo cold now!!!!! Anyway.. sorry for rambling LOL.. Thanks again for the info, have a GREAT day! π
Hi! I love your house and the nursery! I have been searching for a theme and color scheme for our baby boy’s nursery and fell in love with what you did with the turquoise and gray! I was wondering- what is the name of the fabric that you used for the curtains? It didn’t come up under the name zoology on fabric.com. Thanks!
I REALLY want to know where you got the ceiling fan. I can’t seem to find it anywhere and I have it in my head and ant seem to like anything else…, help!
This is not the exact one, but very similar: http://www.menards.com/main/lighting-fans/ceiling-fans/residential-fans/hunter-altitude-52-in-3-light-ceiling-fan/p-1506318-c-7488.htm
I love this chair!! My question is, is it comfortable for your husband to sit in? My husband insists on a rocker recliner in our living/family room that he sits in to watch TV. We have always had one of those ugly leather ones and we need a new one and I refuse to buy one of those again. We have seriously spent the last five years looking for a nice one that we both can agree on. Just wondering if it fits a tall man.
Thanks
I would say it doesn’t fit my husband as well as it fits me. I love it…but he doesn’t think it’s as comfortable. Probably need something more massive for a guy! π
I’ve been searching through Michael Miller fabrics and there are lots of options under ”zoology”. Do you know if you used the ‘lagoon’ or ‘sea’ zoology fabric… neither look exactly like what you have in your photos.
