One thing I didn’t expect on this vacation is that my kids would make such great friends with other kids.
The first day we were here we met another family from Rhode Island who had a little boy and little girl, Noah and Lillianna. Our kids were connected at the hip from the second they met.
Plus, you may not know this, but one of the names we love for a little girl (if we get a girl via our adoption) is Lillianna.
Jeff’s mom’s name is Lilly and my mom’s middle name is Ann so it would be a perfect family name.
Anyway, there was no doubt in my mind that we crossed paths on purpose. God’s purpose.
We ended up doing lunches and dinners together because the kids were inseparable.
Parker kept saying “Noah is my best friend in Jamaica!” It’s funny how kids can hit it off with other kids so quickly! I’d never dream of calling someone my best friend after hanging out for a day. LOL!
Unfortunately, they left a few days before us and to say that my boys were devastated…would be a huge understatement.
There’s been tears. And pleading. And more tears.
They don’t understand that Rhode Island and Illinois are not quite anywhere near each other. They keep begging for Noah to come over when we are home. I tried to explain that he’d have to take a plane to get to us, but they will argue me and say…
“Sooo. We took a plane to get here. Why can’t he just get on a plane and come over.” Haha.
Ohhhhh, if it were only that easy.
More pics from Jamaica…

My little brother always made good friends when we went on vacation. He could make friends anywhere! He was ten years younger than me so he never had anyone close to his age to hang out with so it worked out that he made friends. He is 17 and still makes friends when we go on big family vacations!
It looks like you guys had the best time! I have really enjoyed all the pictures. We are debating doing an all inclusive. We have only done cruises but I keep seeing all these people having so much fun at an all inclusive we might just have to try it out!!

This is so nice how kids can act. Your kids are adorable! My son is the same way, he can pretty much make friends with everybody and everywhere, even despite different languages. We are hoping to take a vacation to Jamaica as well ๐

So glad you guys had an awesome vacation (minus flight home). ๐
My kiddos are the same way, chatting it up with anyone and everyone they meet, excitedly running over to tell me about their new “friend”.
I love seeing them like this because I was the opposite as a child, yet now know the importance of making solid friends and now I’m the bubbly, chatty Cathy. Who knew. ๐

I love how kids can make friends so easily! E made a friend at Universal in Florida at the resort pool – we ended up having dinner with her family and the two girls still FaceTime eachother two years later!

For some reason, I was thinking of you today. I have not chatted with you in some time and I am glad to see you and your precious family are well. It looks like a great trip! our daughter likes to meet new people on vacation too. She is 14 now and headed to Rockette Summer Intensive in NYC next weekend – where the whole making new friends deal will be taken to the next level(: Blessings, Susan
