It’s been awhile since I’ve done a fashion post. Mostly because I’ve been hanging out in myย yoga pants WAY more than I should.
Shhhh. Don’t tell anyone.
But recently when I was in Chicago for my best friend’s wedding…I was forced to drop the yoga pants and oversized tank so that I didn’t look like a frumpy mom matron-of-honor at the rehearsal dinner.
I would have hated to embarrass the bride.
^^^^bride = gorgeous^^^^
So we did some city street fashion pics. And I realized a couple things:
1. I’m awkward in fashion photos
2. My serious face just makes me look ticked
3. These shoes were awful so I carried my flip flops in my handbag so I could ditch them when no one was looking
4. I’m still obsessed with chevron {I’m not apologizing}
5. Spray tans make everything better
The first thing that caught my attention about this dress was the colors. I typically choose items that are black or grey.
Or boring.ย
But I wanted to be fun and bright. Clearly since I went royal blue on my shoe choice.
Did you now if you have an awesome background, like pretty flowers or city streets…no one will even notice your awkwardness? Or at least that’s my hope.
Do you like to dress up occasionally so that you feel human? Or do you prefer to stay in your yoga pants?

Thank you lady! You don’t even want to see what I currently have on…let’s just say it’s covered in dog hair and I may or may not have spilled spaghettios all over myself.

I love all of your clothes! You always have great style and accessories. {Side note- what type of camera do you use to take your photo’s?}

I’ve never had a spray tan before when you go and get it done do you have to tell like the shade you want? If so what did you choose because I know that sometimes if people get spray tans it looks orange thats why I’ve been nervous. But you look great <3 your dress.

Love that dress! You look beautiful!
I love dressing up sometimes. It’s nice to feel “fancy” so to speak. But being comfy is my jam most days.

First let me say that you look stunning! I love the bright colors! When I started reading the post, I was wondering how you walked in those heels. When I read that you ditched them for flip flops – I felt better(: I love heels but I have trouble finding ones that I can wear for extended time periods. Thanks for the inspiration! Susan
Becky @ bybmg says
Love the dress! I’d definitely buy it! Hooray for getting out of yoga pants!
Emily @ My Love For Words says
You look great! I hope to dress well again when I finally start to lose this baby… and toddler… and preschooler weight. haha #2. Me too! When I had my senior pics done (over a decade ago now!) I thought I had a nice serious pic, but my friends were like, “You look pissed!”
Kate says
Yoga’s are definitely my go to but I miss working mainly so I can dress up. I miss actually getting dressed and having somewhere to be {well, some days, haha}. Love this dress and shoes!! I would definitely wear this. It is totally mom appropriate, cool-fashionable but totally cool to wear with kids around!
Paige @ Reasons to Come Home says
Gorgeous! Love the shoes but I’d break my neck in them.
Ashley says

You and the bride look like sisters!
Lisa says
You look great! I dress up every day for work but the minute I get home I change into yoga pants and a t-shirt. My son is 1 so invariably I end up with spit up or some other body fluid on my clothes. :o)
