Our February challenge is going to be a good one. Why? Because it’s seriously going to be VERY hard for me to complete.
Ask me to declutter? Easy. Ask me to organize? Easy. Ask me to exercise AND eat healthy?
Blah. Blah. Blah.
I live with the mentality that just putting on cute yoga pants should automatically make me more fit. Then you tell me I have to actually WORK OUT in them. I cry.
Any other wives feel me on this one?
I can’t seem to make myself want to eat healthy and workout daily. Maybe it’s that my love for Starbucks and french fries trumps going to the gym? Or maybe I prefer the couch and a fountain coke over 100 air squats? My husband is opposite. He has no problem waking up bright and early at 5 AM to get his workout on and he avoids carbs like he’s allergic or something.
In case you don’t know this about our marriage, Jeff is more committed to things than I am.
I try, but I usually end up falling off the train. Or, going to the gym once a week. #lame
Especially because going to the gym once a week won’t get you fit. Or heathy. It will make you sore for the entire week and then you’ll start all over the next week.
One of the hardest parts about exercising for me is GETTING TO THE GYM. I usually have nine million excuses on why I don’t have time. That’s why I’m excited for our February challenge – The Spouse Fit Challenge – because we are going to be working out AT HOME!!!
We are going to be trying out the 21 Day Fix workout (our last day of the challenge will be a celebratory day since 21 Day Fix is 21 days and not 22 – ha!).
We realize that not everyone might want to do the 21 Day Fix and that is JUST FINE!
We are keeping our challenge open to ANYONE who wants to make the commitment to exercise and eat healthy for 22 days.
Or 21, plus a day to celebrate. 😉
The challenge will BEGIN on Monday, February 2, 2015!
Here is what the challenge will look like:
1. Together we will commit to exercising and eating healthy for 22 days. At the least, we will ask you to complete the 7 second workout.
2. First off, we want you to keep your spouse accountable. You guys are in this together and you can be a team. We also want you to be active in our accountability Facebook group. This is where the magic happens. We share, hold each other accountable, check in every day, and learn from each other. We will even share recipes, support, failures, successes, you name it.
We are there to help lift each other up for the duration of the challenge. I’m going to need LOTS of accountability.
We will also take before and after pictures, and measurements. We want you to physically see the results that you have gained during the challenge!
Now excuse me while I go find the cutest pair of yoga pants I own and pretend that I am wearing them because I am going to the gym.
Next week I won’t be able to just pretend. I’ll have to actually workout.
This “official” challenge has ended, but if you are interested in joining the next one please check out our Fitness Page. I am running monthly challenge groups which give you access to a private Facebook group.

Excellent idea. I’m committing both of us without asking first. 🙂 That’s okay, right?

Haha! Of course!

Are you doing the containers and the DVD workout program of 21 Day Fix or just doing your own plan for 21 days? I did the 21 Day Fix for 4 rounds and loved it. I initially did it because I got out of the workout habit and no matter how hard I tried to start I would eventually fall off the wagon. The 21 Day Fix helped me to get back into the regular routine of getting up earlier and getting the exercise out of the way first thing off my list. The before and after photo showed me how much it helped, as well as the measurements. After the 4 Rounds of 21 Day Fix I had to change since my body got used to it. If you need a change later I would recommend PiYo too. I’m loving it even more than the 21 Day Fix. Good luck on your challenge!

We aren’t doing the containers…just because I want to be realistic and change my eating habits to something I can maintain after the 22 days. My goal is to make healthy choices and cut out things like Starbucks. 🙂 We will have to try Piyo next! Thanks for the recommendation!
