Oh happy day.
I feel like I complain every day about being busy or tired or because the kids are going bonkers so I ABSOLUTELY love to sit down and think about positive things. Things that have been making me smile.
It’s nice to remind myself that, “Yea, there have been a lot of good things going on in my life despite my bad attitude.” ๐
It’s so easy to get caught up in all the negativity so I encourage you {even if you don’t film a vlog and link up with us}…take the time each day to sit down and reflect on the good things in your life! It’s worth it!
Video Comments:
- I feel so blessed by the friendships I have created through blogging and Natalie’s trip here was definitely the highlight of my entire month.
- So very proud of my husband! His book is being released on September 9th…so YES…prepare to hear much much more about that in the coming weeks. I can’t wait to show you the book trailer that we filmed!
- My best friend’s wedding is the first weekend in September and I am beyond thrilled to be a part of it. She was my college roommate and someone I consider a sister and I could not be more happy for her and her big day.
Things I didn’t have time to mention, but wanted to:
- I just started back on my Obagi skin care system and I can already tell a difference in my skin. I’ll be sharing more about my experience in the next month, but prepare to see some REALLY bad before pics. I’m about to keep it real.ย
- Parker and Bentley are both in soccer camp this week and I officially feel like a soccer mom. In a good way! It’s so fun to watch them. And of course, it’s Bents dream…to kick people in the shin.
Hope you’re enjoying your last few weeks of summer!
We vlog the FIRST Wednesday of every month and we would love to have you join us!

I totally relate with the fun school shopping. I just took my 8 year old out for some things. We left the 3 year old at home which was great since we don’t get alone time that often. It was fun just hanging out and letting her choose what she likes and seeing her be so independent instead of me just shopping for her. Good times!

Yay for Jeff! So glad everything is coming together for the book. Shoe shopping with the boys was fun?! I ordered Nathan’s online. This past weekend was tax free shopping here and there was no way I was braving the crowds.

Ok Mandy, here’s how I have handled giving two maid of honor toasts… I surprised them with video collages {included childhood pics, couple pics, etc} – all set to music. This way I only had to speak for a minute or two and then… ta da, a surprise video. They both loved it. I just needed to call the halls to coordinate AV and it was good to go. Good luck – you’ll do great. Just pretend you’re talking to a video camera… you’ve got that down! ๐

I haven’t taken Parker for back-to-school shopping yet, but gonna try & do it this weekend! I’m not looking forward to school starting, so I guess that is why I keep putting it off!
Thanks so much for hosting!

Darn! I missed it again… I swear I will make the link up. I love watching all the things we moms are grateful for.
Since I didn’t make the link up this month (or EVER, It WILL happen) I will just tell y’all what I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for both of my kids being in school!!! Mama gets some alone time, finally after 7 years of having kids with me 24/7.
Now, let’s not mistake a happiness I’m feeling now, for the sadness I experienced when my baby girl got on the big bus the first day as a Kindergartener. The tears were flowing, honey!
It’s nice to do things I enjoy. I had time to sit down and read my Busy Mom Bible, I can get up take a shower and get ready in peace. I guess what I’m saying is that it’s nice to get back to being Tawny!

I bet y’all are both thrilled that his book trailer is getting finalized —- such an accomplishment!!!
As for back-to-school shopping, I can’t decide if I’m eager for the days when Jackson will have a say so in what he gets or not?! Haha! Going WITH them does sound like fun though! Jackson already needs some new shoes after stocking up just 2 months ago! Gahhhhhhhh. These boys grow too fast!
And I wish I had some great advice for you for your matron of honor speech, but I’ve never felt like a pro speaker either!! I will say that recording my [very poor quality – ha!] vlog today that I think that might actually be a great way to practice giving your speech! You can watch it / tweak it and make sure you’re really happy with it! Just a thought!
SO GLAD I *finally* joined in on the vlogging fun today……. maybe down the road I’ll figure out some vlogging tips and tricks so mine doesn’t look so mickey mouse! Baby steps… baby steps. ๐ Thanks for hosting this, dear!

I’m really excited to see the finished book trailer! I think using video to advertise for books is awesome, and I love seeing what people come up with. And I think it’s adorable that your boys got so excited to pick out their own back-to-school shoes! Thanks again for hosting this linkup ๐

My son is the exact same way about shoes! He’s only 3 and he wants to wear the same pair of shoes EVERY day even though he has about 3 other pair! Drives me nuts!
Love your blog!
