So…my very capable or not so capable husband was given a task last week. His task was to order 2 new shelves for our refrigerator. One had broke and one was on the verge of breaking.

Do you guys know what shelves I am talking about?

Yea, the plastic ones on the inside of the door that look like they MIGHT cost $3.99.

Those are the ones.

So, I am pretty anal organized when it comes to the credit card. We just got a new one that we run everything through for the rewards points. I pay it off weekly because I am just that anal can’t stand to have a balance on my credit card.

When I got online today I noticed there was a $240.66 charge from Frigedaire.

I immediately thought to myself, did he buy a whole new fridge instead of just replacing the shelves? Then I thought, TELL ME HE DIDN’T PAY $240.66 for 2 plastic shelves?

I called him right up because I was sure Frigedaire had mischarged our card. After all, we are talking about 2 plastic shelves.

Nope, no mischarge in this equation.  His response…”the shelves were $120 a piece”.

He admits he thought it was slightly outrageous. But…HE STILL WENT AHEAD AND PURCHASED THEM!

I mean seriously, who in their right mind would pay $240.66 for 2 plastic shelves that go in your refrigerator? I can buy a whole new fridge for $498. Not.A.Joke.

This folks is why hubby is not allowed to be in charge of stuff like this. God love him. He is a great provider for our family, but a little clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff.

I would say about 70% of the time…this is how I am looking at him. I like to describe him as “doooo-ta–doooo”.

Just so you know how the story ended….

I had to call Frigedaire and come to find out he had ordered the wrong shelves. I knew it! I knew there was NO WAY those shelves could possibly cost $120 a piece. I was right. They were only suppose to be $27 a piece. That’s a far cry from $120.

But the fact that he thought it was OKAY to pay $240 for 2 plastic shelves…still blows my mind.
