This is our second year at FINCON {Financial Blogger Conference}. Last year it happened to be in Illinois and we were able to drive, but this year the location moved to Denver, Colorado! Hubby and I have never been to Denver so we were even more excited to attend this year.

Thankfully my parents {Gigi and Poppy} agreed to watch the boys while we left for 4 days. 4 WHOLE days. Quite possibly the longest I have been away from the boys since before SJ was born.

Technology is wonderful though and we have been able to Face Time each day with them.

The first night consisted of a welcome reception which was a lot of mingling and meeting other bloggers. They also held an awards ceremony called the Plutus Awards. Basically it’s like the Grammy’s {on a much much smaller scale of course} of the personal finance blogger world.

My husband was a presenter and he was up for “Best Retirement Blog“. He actually won in his category and walked away with a really cool new backpack full of swag and this awesome little trophy {that makes me giggle}.

Do you think this means I am getting kicked out of the bed and replaced by the trophy? Ha!

From the moment we walked in the doors here it’s been, “Jeff!….JEFF!….Hey Jeff!….Jeff over here!” I feel like I’m with a celebrity or something. BAHAHA! It took us over an hour to get from the lobby to our hotel room. GEEEEEZ.

I mean…I walk in to Blissdom and not a single person knows me. He walks in to FINCON and the entire place wants to talk to him. Someone may need to deflate his head after this trip is over. 😉

So far this conference is EVEN better than last years FINCON. I have been reunited with one of my favorite people in the world, Linda, from Rose a la Mode! Her husband is a personal finance blogger too and we immediately hit it off last year.

I just adore her….and her style…and her love for Jesus. I would not have near as much fun here if it weren’t for her.

So much more to recap including:  My husband’s speech, a pull-up contest with Ramit Sethi, shopping and lunch with 2 fellow mommy bloggers, praying before dinner {in public}, meeting more wonderful ladies to add to the “wives club” and MUCH MORE!

For now? We are home bound and I need to sleep in a bad bad way.
