FIND OUT HOW TO GAIN ACCESS TO MY FITNESS GROUP >>>> HERE.
I don’t normally post stuff like this (especially because this is being super transparent). But here I go…
I used to go to Crossfit 3-4 times a week, but that slowly faded to 2 days a week…and then 1 day… and then nothing.
I had every excuse in the book: I’m too tired, I have too much to do, the kids have practice and homework, my head hurts… and the list goes on. Bottom line is this, working out was no longer a priority in my life. I started to notice I had less energy and was really feeling blahhh about my body.
The Change
At the beginning of February 2015 my husband and I decided that we needed to get healthy and we wanted to do it together. You might have heard me mention the Spouse Fit Challenge over at Marriage More. It was 21 days of eating healthy and exercising.
Clearly, the hubs was stoked – do we call that a duck face bicep selfie??? #awkward
Me, on the other hand, I typically feel like if I merely just put on workout pants…that should count as working out.
The Workout
We chose to do the 21 Day Fix program for the workouts and then just make healthy choices for our meals. I had absolutely NEVER done anything like this. EVER.
You guys, I am blown away by how much you can change your body and MORE IMPORTANTLY your self esteem and confidence in just a short 22 days.
These are my before and after pics. I took the after pictures before I finished the last workout on the 21st day and I wanted it to be the same outfit, same lighting, same background so that you could see the realness of these photos. I realize that you might think I didn’t have much to lose, but everyone has their own “comfort level” on what makes them feel good about their body. My goal was to lose 5lbs and tone up.
The exercise program is 30 minutes every day and I do it AT HOME (which is my favorite part). Here’s a little video on it…
How I Did It
1. I gave up certain drinks that I was addicted too.
Yes, Starbucks was one of them. I would have a Venti Iced White Mocha at least 3 (if not 4) times a week. I’ve never looked up the calories in one, but I’m going to go ahead and assume it would make me want to vomit.
2. I made healthier choices.
I wanted to make sure that this challenge was not something that would start and end…and I would end up going back to exactly the way I was before – unhealthy. My goal was to make this a lifestyle change.
When it comes to food I rarely have the self control to not eat whatever I want so this was the hardest part for me, by far. But I vowed to make healthier choices at every meal. Try this Strawberry and Spinach Salad – sooooo good!
3. I had a plan.
Before the challenge even started I knew I needed to plan out when I would be able to workout and what I was going to eat. It is absolutely amazing what happens when you know ahead of time – A. when you will squeeze in a workout and B. what you will eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Life changing people. I followed the 21 Day Fix workouts and was 100% dedicated to making sure I got in my 30 minutes each day.
4. I stuck to it.
Even when I had excuses, like my kids were in the way or bugging me, I stayed on track. It was actually fun letting them join in a few times.
If you were in the same place I was just a few short weeks ago and are desiring to see changes in your mood, body, confidence and health then this challenge is for you.

I love seeing your post in Instagram of working out even when you don’t really feel like it. I am staring my fitness journey. I have been going to the gym for a while but way to scared to actually take a class. Today (at 10:30) will be my first one!! I’m so nervous but I know it will be worth it! Congrats on your progress and all your hard work, you look awesome!
