It started last Wednesday morning went I went to get SJ up for the morning only to find his ENTIRE crib {blankets, sheets, mattress protector, bumper} were covered in puke. UGH!
It was dry so I knew he had to have done it in the night. Talk about feeling some mom guilt. Dang, I didn’t even hear him. I keep my video monitor on all night, but I swear I never heard a peep out of him. I’m usually a light sleeper too.
Then Thursday came and I returned home from a trip to the grocery store to find that our dog had puked everywhere. Of course, it was on the rug and carpet. I don’t understand why dogs can’t puke where it’s easier to clean up, like on the hardwood or tile. Nope, never fails, every time she pukes on the carpet.
And when I say she puked on the rug….there were puddles ALL the way around this dining room table. Can we just keep it in one spot, please? Geez!
Flash forward to Friday night and P started to complain that his tummy hurt. Sure enough…within hours he was puking too. Unfortunately, he puked in my bed. Nothing like stripping the bed at 2 am. Good times!
Just when I was certain that the puke monster had left this house…last night Bents came running out of his room at about 10:00 pm with every inch of his body drenched in puke. Just walking towards the hallway of his bedroom I could smell it wasn’t going to be good when I went in there.
Let’s just say…Bents wins the award for the most disgusting puker in this household. I’m gagging just typing this.
This was the view of our bedroom floor last night. It looks like we were have a slumber party, but no sleepover fun here. This was so mommy could regulate the pukers.
I’ve been up since 3:00 am, but honestly? I’m feeling like a rockstar.
Bents woke up acting like he was ready to run a marathon so I guess it’s a good thing I’m not tired {or the next victim of the puke monster}.
He’s been taking his animals on a walk for the last 2 hours and I swear he never quits.
I’m leaving the boys behind for a few hours while I go help deliver Thanksgiving food bags with my church.
I guess that may be my only puke break.
I’ll be nervous to return in fear of who will be puking next…the hubby?

Sounds like a lot of fun……:)
Blessed kiddos of yours to have a Mommy that not only cleans them up and cares for them-but documents the whole thing beautifully!

So random question…where did you get the big animals at? I am looking for a camel for a friend of mine’s daughter for Christmas. You wouldn’t think that would be hard…but it has been actually. I have looked at Target, Toys R Us, ebay, Amazon…and I can’t find a good one anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks, hope everyone is feeling better in your house now!

The giraffe is Melissa & Doug and came from Amazon. The dog was just a stuffed dog from Sam’s. I’ve never seen a camel.

Oh, poor babes AND momma. Hope the puke fairy {or monster, I think that’s better ;)} moves out soon! Hang in there.

Ugh this just sounds awful. So sorry you went through this. I have a 1 year old and I seriously have nightmares about stomach bugs – and I only have one kid so far!! You are probably going to think I’m crazy for asking but how do you clean that up when it’s in the bed or on the floor? Does it go down to the mattress? I know you can strip the sheets, but what happens if it goes into the mattress? I feel like I would just always get that hint of the smell…even if it was just mental!! We haven’t really had to deal with this yet because my little one is still in the crib with the waterproof cover, etc. So it’s been a relatively easy cleanup when she has been sick. I’m such a neat freak and honestly think I might have had a breakdown with 3 with the stomach bug!! I’d love to hear how you tackled this…You are a rockstar mom!!!

I have the mattress cover on the twin bed too so that helped a ton. I always soak the sheets in the sink and then put them in the washer. Good times! LOL!
