Do you know how long it has been since I have been able to say…
“I don’t have a baby on formula anymore.”
A long time.
Like a super long time.
And while I am not complaining that I will no longer have to spend $33.88 a week on formula…I am a little sad that my baby is no longer a baby.
SJ is growing up.
*tear*
He is now strictly on whole milk. Surprisingly, he likes it. Unlike his older brothers who wanted nothing to do with milk {and still don’t}.
Speaking of milk, let me just remind you how bad spoiled milk can smell…
Rewind to last week when I was heading to the daycare to drop off the boys. A foul smell was coming from my minivan. Yes, I still drive the mini {proudly}.
I was almost sure something had died in there (like an animal). Sometimes when the boys play in the garage they will open my minivan doors and they will get left open overnight. It wasn’t unlikely that an animal could have found their way into my lovely mini and died from the heat.
Either that or I was sure to find at least 6 chicken nuggets rotting away under Bents’ seat.
When both of those options proved to be untrue…I thought to myself…“maybe SJ pooped.”
{Yes, even a face this cute produces some really stinky stuff.}
It must have been a bad poop. Dang. Smelling up the whole car.
Except when I went to get him out of the car {sure to find a poopy explosion}…his diaper was as clean as they come.
It wasn’t him either.
THEN WHAT ON EARTH COULD THIS DISGUSTING SMELL BE???
Fast forward until I came home. I began working on the computer and once again…the nasty smell was BACK!
UGH!
I now thought “how ironic that something by my computer smells exactly like my nasty mini“.
I wondered if one of the boys hid a poopy diaper somewhere.
After a long extended search with no poopy diaper rescue…I gave up.
My dad needed me to meet him at Lowe’s {for project closet makeover} so I left the nasty smelling office & got back in to my nasty smelling mini.
I walked in to Lowe’s and guess what…nasty smell came with me. I quickly looked down at myself and thought…”What it the world! How could this smell be coming from me???? I took a shower for pete’s sake.”
The only other thing it could possibly be…my diaper bag. And holy crap, when I stuck my head in my bag I almost fainted. Yes, the smell was THAT bad.
Apparently one of SJ’s bottles of whole milk had emptied itself inside my bag…a few days prior.
Yea.
Talk about gross.
How I never noticed that my diaper bag was wet and had 6 ounces of 4 day old milk in it…still stumps me?
Ha!
Lesson learned.
SJ hasn’t quite started walking yet. Both of my other boys were walking by 11 months, but not SJ…he’s taking his time…and mommy is ok with that.
Trust me, I am not rushing him.
He really does want to take off though…
…but he just doesn’t have the courage to take a step. My husband says he’ll be walking by next week.
I’m afraid that as soon as he can start walking, then he will start fighting. That seems to be how boys roll. It’s a constant WWE match here…and I know P and Bents are just DYING to let SJ dive in the mix {mommy no likey}.
For now I prefer hugs all around.
He is still “fragile” as I like to tell the boys.
As soon as he starts punching them back, I think they will stop believing me about this whole “fragile” thing.
*Don’t forget to pause and remember what you are thankful for this week! Stop & Smell the Roses is tomorrow and I will be sharing my top 5 favorite Christian songs!*

SJ in footie jams KILLS ME. And just at the mere mention of “spoiled milk” I had to swallow a little vomit. ICK! The same happened to the inside of my Kelly Moore bag. You know.. the one I also take with me to PHOTOGRAPH CLIENTS! During one entire session, as I kept changing lenses, I was thinking “good GOD what IS THAT?”.. Yep. Spilled milk. Oh, the devil!

LOVE. He is getting so big, so fast! Seriously can’t believe how grown up he looks! See ya tomorrow ๐

Sloane, please come over and play. He is pure perfection [like you didn’t know that already]. And I’m with your hubby — I bet he’ll be walking within a week!
Funny how you’re eager for them to walk, but then don’t want them to at all [like you, I was going to be TOTALLY okay w/ it if Jackson took his sweet time…the husband….the exact opposite]. Once they’re walking, they are RUNNING in no time. Sheessshhh!
And yah for no more freaking formula! Do tell, what sippy cup is SJ using? I’m afraid Jackson is going to starve to death if I totally take away bottles. Yikes.
And WHAT? No really. WHAT???????????????????? I did not, I repeat DID NOT think you owned a mini van. Are you serious? If so, I love it and would like for you to pick me up in it to go get a coke. See you in 10.

What a sweetie he is! Oh and that milk smell…I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. A zippy of milk rolled under Addie’s bed before we left for our camping trip two weeks ago and when we came home and I went in her room…AHHHH!! Most disgusting smell ever. And it took several shampooings and days of open windows to get that room smelling right again. NOT GOOD! Hope the diaper bag is all smell-free now ๐

I think SJ looks so much like P in these pictures. Little mini! And I gagged a little at the spoiled milk. We had a sippy cup go missing for weeks one time. We could smell it, just couldn’t find it. Try walking around with your living room smelling like spoiled milk for two weeks. Yea. Nasty.
