Welcome to our lovely home where we constantly have naked children running around.
Ahem.
Hey, laundry is not my favorite past-time. If you have boys then you know that…clothes…are optional until you are five.
I try to keep my house fairly picked up and clean. You know, just in case you were to pop in and say hello. But, my kids? I can’t always promise you they are “visitor ready”. In fact, they will most likely need 3 minutes to throw on some pants.

We built our home in 2011 and ever since…I’ve had my dad working on a constant Pinterest project.
Lucky for us, he is free labor. I wouldn’t have been able to do HALF of the stuff in our home if it weren’t for his help.
If you are curious as to where I got something please click on the links under each room and it will take you to a page dedicated to that specific room (and a source list will be at the end of each post).
Some of the new room makeovers do not have source lists yet (but are coming soon)!
– Exterior –
– Bathroom –
Sorry to start with the bathroom, but we just re-did our hallway bathroom with subway tile and marble floors. I am in love.
Post coming soon.
– Dining Room –
I have updated this dining room about 900 times. The latest look…
The old dining room looked like this…
– Kitchen –
To see more pictures of my kitchen check out my modern kitchen post.
– Powder Room –
See more of our Shiplap Bathroom, including a video tutorial on how to shiplap!
– Teen Girl Bedroom –
See the entire room and details here.
– Entryway –
Post coming soon.
See more back door entryway way details.
– Home Office –
See the full work from home office space details.
– Living Room –
Our living room gallery wall is ever evolving, but here is the post on the EXPLORE wall that I used to have up.
We added a little pop to our fireplace by using trim and paint… check that out here.
– Nursery –
Miss Nella’s room is one of my all time favorites!
Post coming soon.
It used to be an elephant themed nursery for when SJ was a little guy. It was so fun to turn it all pink!
– Master Bedroom –
The original design of our master bedroom was dark and dreary. I have lightened things up a bit since then.
It went from dark to light… see details for the white and bright here.
And then we got a new bed to go with the new bright white and it looks even brighter! LOL!
Post coming soon.
If you like the corner shelves above be sure to stop by my “How to Build a Corner Shelf” tutorial.
And if you want to take a walk through my closet to see how I stay so organized {and hear why I hide out in here when the kids are being crazies}!
– Master Bathroom –
The old master bathroom details are here. I am working on an updated source list.
– Boys Bedroom –
The latest big boy room is the sports themed bunk bed room.
The boys play musical beds so you never know which kid will be sleeping where. Haha! The other boys bedroom we have is set up to be a shared room as well.
Pop over to my Big Boy Room post to see the old transportation themed room.
Or check out this Alphabet Themed Toddler Bedroom.
That turned into this robot room.
Oh, and by the way…I love to decorate my house with my kids art. See how.
– Playroom –
You can visit my Playroom Decor post to see more playroom decorating ideas or check out my toy storage post!
– Basement –
The basement that my husband claims is “A Pinterest Cave” and he was hoping for a “Man Cave”. #oops
Update: I’ve converted the basement to a man cave playroom. Stay tuned…
As I mentioned, our home is a constant work-in-progress! I would just like to thank my husband for putting up with my 18 million ideas and more importantly, for footing the bill on those 18 million ideas.
And because I want you all to know that I truly am not superwoman and do not keep my house THIS clean {it’s all a front}… pop over to see my HOME TOUR SPOOF.
Trust me, you will instantly feel better about yourself.
You can find all of my projects HERE!
Thanks for stopping by…now next time give me some notice!

Your house is gorgeous Mandy! To be honest, I’d say the crazy naked boys complete it. 🙂 Can’t wait to see more!
Tasha says
Beautiful home!!!! I was wondering what the outside of your house looks like. Your front porch is very similar to the house plans that I love. The only problem is I having seen any pictures of it. Is there any on your website or your house plan online that I could see???? Thanks!!!!
Mandy says
Thank you! I don’t have any pictures of the exterior. I need to get some up! I will work on it!
Sarah Shain says
LOVE your HOME!! It’s amazing!! What was the paint that you used in your bedroom!? It’s a gorgeous, classy black without the gothic feel. Amazing job!!
Mandy says
Thanks so much! You can find the info here: http://houseofroseblog.com/come-in-to-my-bedroom/
Haley says
hello! where did you get your rug in front of the tv? I absolutely love it!!
Mandy says
HomeDecorators.com and it’s Martha Stewart Demask!
Leah says
I love this rug! I just looked for it at HomeDecorators.com and didn’t see it in this color though. Did you buy it recently?
Mandy says
It was over 6 mths ago. It’s Martha Stewart Demask if you want to google it. I bet you could find it somewhere else. Maybe try RugsUSA.com.
Jaimie says
What is that dark shade in your dining room and bedroom? I like it!
Mandy says
You can find that info here: http://houseofroseblog.com/come-in-to-my-bedroom/
🙂
Danica says
Hi Mandy, Well sister you totally rock!! I pinned your post of your bedroom and told my husband I wanted EVERYTHING the same in our bedroom and he was ready to get started right away! Love it all!!! I was wandering what your laundry room looks like? This is one area you didn’t showcase and I would really love to spruce mine up a little so I thought I would check with you to see what ideas you might have up your sleeve..? Mine is painted a soft yellow and I have some black and white in it right now. This is an area I spend quite a bit of time in so I want it to be fun and inviting! I look forward to incorporating lots of your ideas into our home. Thanks so much for sharing!
Blessings!!!
Mandy says
Hi Danica! Thanks so much! I actually just repainted my laundry room last week! I will get pictures up soon, but to be honest, it’s not my favorite room in the house. Haha!
Marleah says
I absolutely love your bed frame and I went to Ashley Furniture to find it and they couldn’t seem to locate it. They told me to try to get the model number from you because it would help them to be able to locate it easier. If you know it, that would be awesome!! How long ago did you purchase the bed frame?
Mandy says
I actually purchased over 8 years ago so I have no idea what the model number is. I am sorry! I have heard other people say that they found something almost identical at Pilgrim Furniture??
Naomi Wilson says
I can totally relate to you… I’ve said the exact same thing several times! We are in the process of building our home and I’m a mother of three boys (most of the time they run around in their skivvies) but my home is always visitor ready! I got a good chuckle, anyway, from reading your posts and your home is lovely. I can only hope that mine turns out so well!
Mandy says
Thank so much!
Rachel says
Hi Mandy, I apologize if this is a repeat question. Wondering about your large family photo in your living room … was that a DIY or did you have that taken and ordered through a professional? Thinking about mod-podging a large canvas and yours looks beautiful! Thanks so much!
Mandy says
It’s a 40×60 canvas print! I ordered it through a professional (because our best friend is a photographer), but I am sure you could find an online company that would make you one for cheaper. Or mod-podging would be cool too!
Cristy Ethridge says
Beautiful job!! Can you tell what kind of wood floors those are and the color. I LOVE them!!!
Mandy says
Thanks! They are a hand scraped hickory by Shaw. I can’t remember the exact color but it’s a medium tone!
Vicky says
You have a beautiful home!
gerri says
I loved your Dining room! So classic looking….where did you get the buffet? The rest of your home was Beautiful!!
Mandy says
Thank you! The buffet is from HomeDecorators.com. Not sure if they still have it, but it’s Martha Stewart Demask if you want to google it.
Marci says
Your house is so cute! I was wondering where you got the white dresser in your dining room? I’m so obsessed with it!
Mandy says
I got it at HomeDecorators.com, but I am not sure they still sell it. Google Martha Steward Demask Rug and you should be able to find it somewhere. 🙂
Denise says
Where did you find the rug for your dining room? Can you come to my house and decorate 😉
Shelly says
I have been looking for the white ruffled curtains like the ones you have in one of the pictures…where did you get them? I had seen them on a T.V. show and really wanted some, but have yet to find any…even considered making them myself, but not sure I want to tackle that!
Mandy says
You can find the info on the curtains here: http://houseofroseblog.com/welcome-to-my-dining-room/
🙂
Danielle says
I love love love the whiteboard in your office. How did you do that? I have a huge wall in our office that I would love to cover with something like this. Thank you!
Mandy says
I ordered a giant roll of white board (self-adhesive) and it just sticks to the wall. Then we trimmed it out with trim from Lowes! I wouldn’t recommend buying the self-adhesive white board. If I had to do it over I would have purchased a white board with no border, but one that you can hang. The self-adhesive one…is never coming off. Haha!
Kalee says
I would love to know what the colors are that you used in your Beautiful home!
Beth says
I love your master comforter! Where’d you get it?
Mandy says
You can find the info here: http://houseofroseblog.com/come-in-to-my-bedroom/
🙂
Beth says
Also, did you stain the cement on your front sidewalk? If so, how did you do it? We’ve been trying to find something to get an acid wash look.
Mandy says
Yep, it’s stained concrete! Much cheaper than stamped concrete.
Micaela says
Mandy,
I adore your house! I read earlier in your blog that you updated Parker’s room? Just wondering how it turned out and if you were posting pictures of it and Bentley’s room. I’m absolutely in love with your nursery but with a baby on the way (possibly two!) and a two year old, I may have to worry a lot less about color scheme and more about extra cribs. Seriously, you’re house is like the epitome of what I want to do to mine, just smaller. Awesome decorating skills!
Mandy says
Thank you so much! I am finished with P’s room and I will be posting the pics either this week or next! Stay tuned! 🙂 And congrats on the pregnancy!
Emily says
I love your home; it’s totally my style! I’ve seen the jumbo prints on Pinterest before, what did you apply the print in your living room to, foam board? Canvas?
Mandy says
Thank you! I actually purchased this canvas…it’s 40×60. I am sure you could find a diy tutorial on pinterest.
kari s. says
I laughed so hard with relief at the naked comment. I am glad that I am not the only Mom out there with boys that love to be naked! Mine are always stripping!
Erin says
I can only find two pics of your playroom on the home tour…do you have another post dedicated to the playroom??
Mandy says
I don’t have them posted yet! I will work on getting them posted soon. I have them ready to go, but just have lots of posts in the que right now. 😉
Ali says
I love the curtains and grey and white mirror you have in your dinning room! Where did you get them from?
Mandy says
I have that info listed at the bottom of this post: http://houseofroseblog.com/welcome-to-my-dining-room/
🙂
Jessmarlana says
Your decor is so simple, but so harmonious and clean at the same time while it brings beauty to every corner of your home.
Amazing. My favorite is the elephant theme in the nursery though! Sooo cute!!
Mandy says
Thank you for the compliment!
Sheri says
Your house is beautiful and you have impeccable taste!!! Are you for hire??? My house is a new build/blank slate and I’m overwhelmed with decorating decisions!!! Any advice on how/where to start for paint colors/schemes?
Mandy says
Thank you! I usually get my inspiration from other blogs or magazines! For paint color schemes I stuck with a more neutral color on the main walls, but then used more bold colors to make things pop (pillars in our kitchen, dining room wall, etc).
Amanda Harp says
What color is your living room? I absoltely LOVE it!! Well, actually, I LOVE your entire house!! One word: GORGEOUS!!! Love your style!! Do you think you would want to come to KY and do mine? Just a thought. 🙂
Mandy says
Haha! Thanks! Hey, I’m not far from KY! 🙂
Amanda says
Yeah I saw that you live in Carbondale. I love in western KY about 20 minutes from Paducah… Small world.
Mandy says
How funny! We are only about an hour apart!
Katie V says
I am IN LOVE with your house – beautiful talent you have! Side note: where did you get the ‘Laugh’ sign/art above the window in your dining room? It’s so fun!
Thanks for sharing!
Mandy says
Thank you so much! I got it at Pier 1, but it’s been awhile.
brandie Hawk says
Where did you get the black bed in the master bedroom? I absolutely love it!
Mandy says
I got it at Ashley Furniture, but it’s been 8+ years. People have said they found something similar at Pilgrim Furniture???
MamaLeah says
I love everything about your house!! I am so into decorating as well. How’d you motivate yourself? I got 3 boys as well and I am married, and I can’t find the time. I will need to hire you as interior decorator :). Keep up the decorating and can’t wait to see more.
Mandy says
Thank you!! Decorating was never something I really liked, but all the sudden I am obsessed with it. It’s been a hobby for a few years now! Pinterest definitely helps me with ideas. 🙂
Stephanie says
I love your home! Beautiful! I’m loving the kitchen backsplash & since my cabinets, counter tops & floors are all the same color as yours (or pretty darn close) and I have the stainless appliances, I know it would work in my house too! Where did you get the tiles for the backsplash?
Mandy says
Hi Stephanie! Thanks! I got the mosiac tile for the backsplash at Lowes!
Shaylyn says
Hey Mandy, I love your home, it is so pretty! I was wondering where you got the corner shelves in your bedroom and living room. I am having a hard time finding some that I like and I love yours.
Mandy says
Hi Shaylyn! Thanks so much! My dad actually made the shelves. I am trying to get him to do a tutorial for the blog!
Christine says
I love your blog! And your home is lovely 🙂
Mandy says
Thank you so much!
Amy Barry says
Loooooooooooove!!! You are rockin’ the dark wood and colors which is different from all the white cottage stuff all over the blog world right now. Personally, I love dark wood and colors. 5 kids. Need I say more?
Mandy says
Thank you! I was worried about doing all the dark, but I do really love it! White is pretty too…but, like you said, not with kids and dogs!
Jenn says
Hi~ I wanted to see if you could tell me where you got the picture/ painting of the tree with the blue/ turquoise bird in your bedroom? Thanks!
Mandy says
You can find the info here: http://houseofroseblog.com/come-in-to-my-bedroom/
🙂
Nicola says
Just found your blog via Pinterest and love it! I actually have a friend named Rose (first name though) who has 3 son’s, is a stay-at-home mom, and loves to decorate. I will definitely share your link, the similarities are too much!
Have a quick question for you – where is your sectional couch from? I have been searching forever for the ‘right’ one and yours seems perfect in size, color, and depth. Thanks in advance for your help!
Mandy says
Oh that is too funny! I wish I could tell you the exact brand of our couch, but I can not remember. We bought it at a local furniture store…but I have no idea what the brand is. I know it wasn’t a super expensive brand (with a dog & 3 kids we go through couches easily – Ha!)
Katie says
Your house is beautiful!!!!! Im in love! Your amazing. Where did you get your pillows on your bed if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks so much
Mandy says
Thank you so much! I got them at Home Goods!
Eleni @ The Baboo says
LOVE(!!!) the huge family portrait including the boxer!!! Aren’t boxers just the BEST family pets?

Mandy says
Thank you so much! The main level is 3,600 square feet. We have a basement that is an additional 1,200 square feet, but it is not finished yet. That is our next project.
Valene says

Mandy says

Brenda says
Beautiful home! Love the fan in the nursery. Do you know the brand and model on that?
Leah says
I am in the process of making a large white board and was wondering if you ordered your frame or if you made it yourself. I’m looking to make one and wanted to know if there are pre made strips of wood for frames or if you had to do it from a 2 x 4…. Any help would be great.
Thanks!!!
Leah
Mandy says
I actually bought the white board (self adhesive) from School Outfitters. Then my dad trimmed it out with trim.
Brooke says

Mandy says
Thank you! I actually bought them from a local store, but I listed the brand/color here {I am sure lots of places carry the same kind}:
