Remember that one time when I re-painted the entire master bathroom, stenciled roses on the wall, added a mirror gallery, painted curtains, updated the vanity areas…and basically gave the space a whole new look?
And then I only showed you pictures of one-fourth of it.
Oh yea, that happened. I got so excited about the stenciled roses that I completely forgot to show you the ENTIRE finished space.
Excuse me for being so rude.
The truth really may be that I didn’t feel like cleaning the entire space so that I could take pictures. And I don’t mean just surface cleaning. When I do a home decor photo shoot I like to get crazy…rearrange…hide things in the cabinets….basically make it look like it’s not lived in.
Like this…
I mean who the heck has a sink without tooth paste residue? NO ONE!
Don’t think I do either. I used Windex on this puppy RIGHT before this picture. Your welcome.
In case you are worried that I live in “perfect” land…just check out my home tour spoof HERE.
The bathroom was originally painted a rusty orange suede color. It was very spanish-esque.
This space is the ONE space in our entire 3,600 square foot home that I actually painted on my own when we were building. I wanted the suede paint look so bad that I told our painters…nope, let ME do it!
Did I mention I was 9 months pregnant?
You can imagine when a 9-month-pregnant-control-freak-home-owner tells you that SHE is going to paint…you let her do it for pete’s sake.
Unless you want smacked.
And then fired.
I pretty much vowed to myself after that extensive paint job…I would NEVER paint again.
Until I completely started to hate the spanish style bathroom.
Crap.
Luckily this time I hired someone to paint over the orange. But the stenciled roses wall…was all me. And those curtains…I am vowing right now in front of all of you all to NEVER paint curtains again. EVER.
I don’t know what it is about painting that has the same effect as childbirth?
It’s like this wonderful idea you concoct in your head…then you actually DO IT and it’s h***.
But immediately following you’re all like, “Oh, I love this. It’s gorgeous. Maybe I’ll re-paint the bedroom next!”
See childbirth I tell ya.
I even took a picture of the toilet for you. Ahem.
I figured if you were getting a FULL tour then you were getting the toilet too.
My favorite part of this entire space is my vanity. Probably because when we lived in our old house I had to sit on the floor in our bedroom to put my makeup on.
My one requirement when building our bathroom was this….
Oh, who am I kidding. I had more than one requirement. The kids needed a giant jacuzzi tub {duh}.
You’d be surprised how many times I’ve soaked in this puppy. Probably at least 50. I always hear of people saying they never use their jacuzzi tub…but not at the Rose household. Nope. We love us some baths.
We also love us some showers.
Aren’t you glad we like to be clean? See, if you came over you wouldn’t have to worry about whether we were clean and groomed. Now you know…we are.
Unless of course it’s summer and the boys consider their time in the pool a bath. I’m not saying we do that…I’m just saying we might. Occasionally.
We love this shower {designed and built by my dad by the way} because it has three shower heads. Well, two and then jets, but the jets on the right work perfect for one of the kids. There are usually at least 3 people in this shower if it’s running. LOL!
I’ll spare you the image of it in action. Naked butts are not appropriate for this post.
Here’s a better view of who’s territory is who’s in our master bathroom.
I like to make it clear that the hubby needs to stay on his own side. Because usually those counters on the left…are filled with junk and clutter.
Not my side…I prefer clean and organized.
There you have it…a tour of our master bathroom.

3,600 square feet … dude I am so jealous right now!! You do not get houses that size in Ireland. Unless you’re Bono maybe 😉

Awesome and gorgeous bathroom. I love the stenciled roses. And the shower is to die for!

Thanks so much for telling us that you Windexed before the photo. 🙂 Even though you did the post showing us what home is REALLY usually like, I still like seeing and hearing the real deal!
My only requirement on our new house, too, was a vanity and sink area just for ME in our bathroom!

Can I move in to just your bathroom? Simply gorgeous!!! that stenciled wall is amazing! I have heard from several people that painting curtains is a nightmare. Sewing is the way to go. I didn’t want to spend $$$ on chevron curtains for our nursery so instead found the fabric and made them for 1/2 of the cost. They are pretty simple too to do…there is even a way to make them without sewing.

Wow I love it! Looks so nice.

I love your bathroom!!! I agree about the vanity area ~ have to have it! My Mr. gave up part of his closet to make room for a vanity area for me. 🙂 I love that little stand on the floor of the shower ~ I need one. Do you remember where you got it? Thanks!

Love it! I want to do a fun stencil on the wall next to our tub too! And I love the idea of putting a full chair at the vanity. Usually you see stools, but the chair looks really nice there. Thanks for sharing!

I love it! Especially the grey wall color–I’ve been thinking of painting our bedroom in a similar color & I love seeing examples of how people have used it. I cracked up at how you cleaned the sink with windex right before taking the picture because my sinks are constantly caked in toothpaste! Looks like we have similar problems 😉

Your bathroom is beautiful! Could you tell me where all of those mirrors came from? I’m working on my nursery for our baby girl due in August and I’ve been on the hunt for awesome mirrors like that. Love your blog, thanks so much for all of the inspiration!

Hi Rose!
I need to hire you to write for my blog LOL..
Whoever thought bathroom remodeling could be so funny. On a serious note though, I think that you are a wonderful painter, and yes I used to own a small painting company and would never dream of arguing with a pregnant woman about anything..
You can tell I’m married with children can’t you.
So yeah, just wanted to say that I loved reading about your bath remodel. I’m always crashing around looking at kitchen and bath stuff to give me new ideas and enjoyed the humor here.

I really like the toilet. I’m pretty picky about toilets. And our master bath is on the next to do list. We are collecting our large items. Storing in the garage till were ready to do. Does this model have a name?
