In the spirit of school being back in session {and to ease my anxiety about sending my use-t0-be Kindergartner to first grade}, I thought I would do a round-up of “Back-to-School Ideas”.
From teacher gifts to back-to-school photo ideas to quick breakfast recipes…here’s a list of things that will help you prepare for BACK-TO-SCHOOL!
Now someone pass the fountain coke…..because my kids going to FIRST GRADE??? AHHHHHHHH!
Create a place in your home that you can devote to homework time. We love to have a designated area and it makes things easier.
He gets home and he knows that he must sit at his desk and finish his homework before he plays. Plus it makes him feel all special that he has his OWN desk at home. For more pictures of the desk just click here.
I’ve been drooling over my friend’s mason jar cup for weeks so when I saw this back-to-school teacher gift idea by The Crafted Sparrow I knew it was something I could see myself giving to Parker’s teacher in the future.
And quick tip on teacher gifts {because I have a few teacher friends}…cute unique ideas like the one above are fun, but if life gets busy and you can’t find time to be the perfect parent gift giver…go with a gift card. Trust me. All my teacher friends love the gift card route.

Oh breakfast. Bleck. I have never been a huge breakfast fan.
But, trust me when I say your anxiety levels will increase if you think that your child is sitting in class starving because you didn’t feed them breakfast. I love this breakfast recipe ideas round-up by Fabulessly Frugal. Super helpful if you are looking for quick and easy things to feed your kids before school.
Maybe it’s the fact that I’m obsessed with chocolate and I love pretzels. But here’s another teacher gift idea by Simply This and That. CUTE!
DIY portable homework station by Today’s Creative Blog….ummmm, yes please.
That is genius. Especially for the nights when your child has to do his homework at his brother’s soccer game.
You know what caught my eye about this back-to-school trail mix? The cookies! Adding cookies to a trail mix might be the best idea I’ve ever heard. Big props to Sugar Bean Bakers for sharing that brilliant idea.
One thing I FORGOT on day 1 of Kindergarten last year was to write my baby a lunch box note. UGH! Motherly fail.
So this year I am all about the Lunchbox printable notes by Kiki and Company.
And since we are speaking of printables…check out The Busy Budgeting Mama’s complete Back-to-School Printable Collection. She’s offering a free counting printable too that is perfect for practicing how to count.

These are such great ideas! I love the “Flips” one. My little guy is returning to Pre-K and this is something I could definitely take to his orientation to give to his new teacher. Easy and super cool!

Tell me about how time flies. My oldest is a freshman, and I have a 6th and 2nd grader. I wanted to push the pause button years ago (after third was potty trained), but alas they keep getting bitter and bigger.
